Gift the Code 2016
The Gift the Code Hackathon all began when a group of Capital One associates decided to bring the tech community together to help close the growing digital gap within the charity sector. Through our community outreach work, we realized that charities didn't have the resources to invest in the tech infrastructure needed to thrive in a digital future. We offered our skills, resources and network and started a shift in mindset to empower charities to see the possibilities that exist with technology.
Our first Gift the Code involved a number of inspirational charities and solutions including Prosper Canada, Second Harvest, Women's Habitat, Toronto Pflag, Holland Bloorview and Blake Boultbee.
